If you don’t know who John Cena is, you must be really out of the loop! John Cena is super famous not just in America, but all over the world. He’s got millions of fans of all ages. At 43 years old, he’s an American pro wrestler and a WWE Superstar who’s been wrestling since 1999. He’s won tons of titles, like being the United States Champion five times, the World Tag Champion four times, and the World champion 16 times. And that’s not all – he’s also an actor and a TV host.
John Cena is not just tall at 6’1″, but also really strong and heavy at 250 pounds. He’s one of the best WWE stars ever.
He started lifting weights when he was only 12 years old and was already super fit by the time he was 18. Then, he studied Exercise Physiology in school.
He even wrote a children’s book that made it to the New York Times Best-seller list called ‘Elbow Grease’. Plus, he’s always helping out and granting wishes for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
People really like John Cena because he’s polite, calm, and disciplined. His tweets are also really popular because they’re deep and encourage a lot of people.
Being famous leads to people asking many questions, such as: “Is John Cena using steroids?” “Is he lying about not using steroids?” Can a person look similar without using steroids? Questions like these often create controversy, especially among famous individuals, because if they’re incorrect, things can become chaotic.
Here’s our take on whether or not John Cena is on steroids:
1.CNN interview
In an interview back in 2007, when asked if he used steroids, John Cena said something like: “That’s a crazy question. It’s hard to answer because everyone is talking about performance-enhancing drugs. I can’t say I haven’t used them, but you can’t prove that I have.”
Later, people accused CNN of changing Mr. Cena’s response. He actually first said, “Absolutely not.” Then he went on to say the part about the crazy question. He also said, “Each one of you has an opinion about how I behave. I’ve been tested for drugs since I was 17 years old.
I can take a million tests and pass them all. But as soon as I pass, someone will say ‘Oh, he used something to hide the drugs.’ I know these arguments because I’ve been in this situation. I hate having to deal with people saying that I rely on a crutch.
I’m really proud that I’m naturally strong, and I like to show it off whenever I can. To me, that’s fun and entertaining. It’s what I love to do.”
So after hearing this, you might think that maybe John Cena is actually natural.
Is John Cena Natural?
There’s no doubting that John Cena is one of the most physically impressive men in the world. But is he natural? That’s a question that’s been debated for years.
On the one hand, Cena has always been unusually large and muscular, even as a child. He started lifting weights in high school, and his physique only became more impressive from there. In addition, Cena has admitted to using steroids in the past, which would explain his unrealistically large muscles.
On the other hand, Cena insists that he is drug free now, and there’s no reason to disbelieve him. He regularly passes drug tests, and he has never been suspended for violating any drug policies.
Cena has never been caught cheating on a diet or workout routine, which would be fairly easy to do if he were using steroids. In all likelihood, John Cena is not natural, but he is still an incredibly impressive athlete.
2.Comparing before and after pictures
When comparing a picture of an 18-year-old John Cena, it is hard not to notice the significant increase in muscle size from the following years. If he was a natural, his physique wouldn’t have exponentially enlarged this way. Here were a certain things that makes us doubt if John Cena was on steroids after 18:
More muscular
There seems to be an exponential muscle growth after his 18th year, although he has claimed to have been lifting weights for 6 years prior. If he had natural genes, his muscles would have grown slightly. But that’s not the case with John Cena, who grew a lot. So this once again throws light on the potential usage of steroids.
Increased skull size
The human skull doesn’t grow much after puberty. Some growth does happen. In Cena’s case, his bigger head suggests he used HGH. HGH is one of the many steroids taken by pro wrestlers and body builders.
Flushed skin
People on steroids often have flushed skin due to increased blood pressure. The skin becomes thin and reflects the pooling of blood in extremities. Upper part of the body and Cena’s chest has appeared pinkish, flushed in many incidents.
Bloating
Yet another cause to suspect John Cena was on steroids is his bloated upper body. People on steroids tend to retain more water that naturals, leading to a bloated appearance. Their upper body muscles are over-developed giving a more fuller, rounded appearance.
-Bulkier midsection
One of the side effects of steroids is causing increased thickness around your waist and midsection region.
Conclusion
Based on our findings, we want to conclude that John Cena’s muscular build at 18 could be due to genetics and exercise. However, he may have used steroids in his later competitive years.
John Cena has been a professional, inspiring idol. Whether or not he used steroids, he continues to brighten the world with kindness.
