With such iconic celebrity status comes the outpour of questions, “Is John Cena on steroids?”, “ Is he lying about being a natural?”, “Is it possible to look like this without having taken steroids?” such topics are always controversial with big celebrities, because one wrong take and it will all lead to chaos.
Here’s our take on whether or not John Cena is on steroids:
In a 2007 interview when asked about if he was on steroids Mr.Cena was reported to have said the following and was aired as such : “This is a crazy question and it’s something that’s tough to answer just because of the way society is now. The way people conceive things, because performance-enhancing drugs have got the spotlight and it’s a hot thing to talk about. I can’t tell you that I haven’t, but you’ll never be able to prove that I have.”
Later CNN was accused of editing Mr. Cena’s response which was originally “Absolutely not. “After which he continued with “that’s a crazy question” part following which he said “Because each one of you out there has an opinion on how I carry myself, and I can take a million tests – I’ve been tested for drugs since I was 17 years old.
I can take a million tests. I can pass every one of them. As soon as I pass it, there’s some guy on the other end going ‘Oh, there’s masking agents, there’s this, there’s that.’ I know the arguments because I’ve been in the situation. This is a subject that is very, very near and dear to me only because since I was a very small child I have worked my [butt] off to get to where I’m at, and it [stinks] to have to deal with people saying that I rely on a crutch.
I take great pride in the fact that I have a God-given gift of above-average natural strength, and I show it off whenever I can, because to me that’s fun, that’s entertaining, it’s what I love to do.”
So form this one would happen to think maybe John Cena is after all a natural.
Is John Cena Natural?
There’s no doubting that John Cena is one of the most physically impressive men in the world. But is he natural? That’s a question that’s been debated for years.
On the one hand, Cena has always been unusually large and muscular, even as a child. He started lifting weights in high school, and his physique only became more impressive from there. In addition, Cena has admitted to using steroids in the past, which would explain his unrealistically large muscles.
On the other hand, Cena insists that he is drug free now, and there’s no reason to disbelieve him. He regularly passes drug tests, and he has never been suspended for violating any drug policies.
Cena has never been caught cheating on a diet or workout routine, which would be fairly easy to do if he were using steroids. In all likelihood, John Cena is not natural, but he is still an incredibly impressive athlete.
2.Comparing before and after pictures
On comparing a picture of an 18 year old John Cena, one where he has already had pretty fully developed muscles and the one’s in the following years , it is hard to not notice the massive increase in size. If he was a natural, his physique wouldn’t have exponentially enlarged this way. Here were a certain things that makes us doubt if John Cena was on steroids after 18:
There seems to be an exponential muscles growth after his 18th year, although he has claimed to have been lifting weights for 6 years prior. If he was a natural, owing his physique to his genes, then his muscles would’ve shown mild increased in growth in the following years and worn out their growth potential, which isn’t the case with John Cena who almost doubled up later in life. So this once again throws light on the potential usage of steroids.
-Increased skull size
Human skull doesn’t necessarily grow in size greatly post-puberty, some amount of growth does take place but in Cena’s case, his quite obviously bigger head size is indicative of Human Growth Hormone (HGH) usage. HGH is one of the many steroids taken by pro wrestlers and body builders.
It is common knowledge that people on steroids often have flushed skin due to increased blood pressure and thin skin which reflects the underlying pooling of blood in extremities. Upper part of the body and Cena’s chest has appeared pinkish, flushed in many incidents.
Yet another cause to suspect John Cena was on steroids is his bloated upper body. People on steroids tend to retain more water that naturals, leading to a bloated appearance. Their upper body muscles are over-developed giving a more fuller, rounded appearance.
One of the side effects of steroids is causing increased thickness around your waist and midsection region.
From what we’ve gathered we would like to conclude by saying that although John Cena’s ripped physique from when he was 18 years old might be owed to his genes and workout regimen, his following competitive years might have seen the usage of steroids.
Steroids or not John Cena has been a thorough professional and been an inspiration and idol to many and hope he continues to make this world a little bit brighter with his kind heart.
